I promised a certain someone that I would post a requested recipe here on this blog! So everyone who doesn't cook... bear with me! :)

It's actually my Mom's recipe. Super easy and ALWAYS a hit!
Sorry girl it's taken me almost a week to post it!!

Pasta Salad

1 large can white chicken breast
1 pkg. vegetable rotini pasta (12-16 oz.)
1 pkg (4 oz.) fine shredded parmesan cheese
1 large bottle Parmesan Romano salad dressing (this is the ingredient that makes this recipe SO easy!!!)

Mix together and serve immediately!

A couple photos from Easter Morning.!

This photo just melts me. I am in love with my children. No doubt about it!

So- here is the story behind these images. We took these photos back in SEPTEMBER 2008. We had taken a Sunday drive and ended up at a park in Gainesville. The kids had so much fun exploring a new park and eventually Sam and I found these rings and OF COURSE had to "play!" Madeline grabbed the camera and snapped away!!! I love how Cort is in between us and probably thinking "what ARE they DOING?" :)

Busy Weekend... and it's NOT over!

What a great weekend! I traveled to Fayetteville to celebrate with Jen at her baby shower! I had also scheduled some shoots and enjoyed shooting in a new location, new city!

The weekend was packed with "girl-time," but I also got to have some much needed time alone! (This trip was actually the first time I have stayed in a hotel room alone!...) It was fun.... I read, relaxed and watched movies.

Starting out with a photo I took a couple weeks ago of Jennifer! Is she not beautiful!??

The shower was held at her sister's home in Rogers!

It was a reunion for Jen, Nikki and I. We all went to school together here in MH. Nikki and I have been friends since we rode the bus together in Middle School. What is that... 16 years? And Jen and I have been friends since high school! We have all been through so many things together: high school drama/activities, first cars, sleep-overs, first dates, graduations, first loves, break-ups, college life, birthday parties, careers, engagements, weddings, babies... this list could go on forever! It was wonderful to be together again. It was like time hadn't passed! We spent time laughing & talking at Starbucks, getting manicures/pedicures and celebrating the upcoming birth of little Ava Grace at Jen's shower. I wish we had had more time!

Now we are gearing up to celebrate this sweet little boy's FIRST BIRTHDAY!!! I can't believe it! It seems like just yesterday little Hunter was born. Happy Birthday sweet boy...

3 Day Weekend in Dallas

We spent the weekend in Dallas- relaxing, eating yummy food and spending time with some of my most favorite people in the world- Shane & Laine! We are friends AND we ARE FAMILY!!! It doesn't get much better than that! Plus we got to visit with Taylor, Laine's sister. FUN FUN!

I put together a collage of our weekend. Pics are from my little point and shoot! I didn't break out my big camera ONCE over the weekend. I just enjoyed myself!

This past weekend I helped Jamie shoot this amazing mother & daughter- Sonya and Monica! Their relationship was so sweet and loving and I truly hope that I will have that kind of relationship with my own daughters when they are teenagers! It was beautiful to see!

Thanks you two for a fun morning! It was great!!! Who knew downtown Hardy, AR could be so fun?! :)

FabFour Day + Liz

Today we had a FabFour "meeting" in Hardy, AR. Unfortunately only three of us four could make it- Jamie, Liz and myself. We missed you Jaren!!!

Liz met us "in the middle" from Memphis. She had to drive a little farther than we did... but we really wanted to shoot in Hardy with all the old buildings and train tracks and stuff so she went the extra distance! We actually had a mother-daughter shoot that Jamie and I shot before Liz got there. Tons of fun and those photos are coming soon...

For now I have some images of my sweet friend and fellow photographer Liz being her beautiful self! She was needing some headshots so she got some!

The Winners Are...

I just loved this years Oscars!!! It was classic.

All of my predictions turned out right except one! I got it wrong on Best Supporting Actress- Penelope Cruz got it, not Amy Adams.

I was so thrilled when Kate Winslet won Best Actress. I have always loved her and I just think she is brilliant. Her acceptance speech was beautiful and REAL and just so great to watch.

I was so happy for Slumdog Millionaire. So happy! I love it when little movies get it! And they were all so shocked and gracious and it was so fun to watch them sweep almost all the awards!

This year I wasn't as enthusiastic about the dresses. It didn't seem to be as glamorous a red carpet as it usually is. My two favorites are:

I am so excited for tonight! I have my DVR all set up and ready to go... and popcorn ready to be popped! It's the night of the ACADEMY AWARDS!!! I love watching it. I don't recall ever missing it. EVER. I always watched it with my Mom growing up... I'm sure she will be watching it herself in Florida.

I LOVE movies- especially Oscar nominated movies! I tell Sam that watching this show is like the Superbowl for me. Luckily he gets that comparison!

So--- my votes:

For Best Picture my vote goes to: SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE! Sam and I saw this movie last night and it is by far the best movie I have seen in a LONG time. It moved me and I love movies that do that! If you haven't seen it, go see it!

For Best Actress I'm going with Kate Winslet. I just adore her and think she is AMAZING and I am so rooting for her tonight! I think she completely deserved to also be nominated for her role in Revolutionary Road (which I am surprised is not in any categories). I loved that movie as well.

I really don't have a vote this year for Best Actor. Or Best Director.

My vote for Best Supporting Actor goes to Heath Ledger.

And for Best Supporting Actress I am voting for Amy Adams. I just think she is GREAT!

I can't wait to see all the beautiful dresses and hear all the speeches! I'll post tomorrow with my Best Dressed!

In other news....

... so anyone who knows me well knows that I'm not very enthusiastic about exercising! At all. Luckily I have freak genes and have never really "needed" to to maintain my weight. BUT I know I need to do something for my heart and my health...

So- for the last couple weeks I have been walking/running (okay- mostly walking!) 3 miles daily! Woo. Hoo! For me to stick with ANY exercise at all consistantly is a miracle. No joke.

It's been nice though. Growing up we always went to Cooper Park (I grew up in that neighborhood) and would walk the track. It has been nice spending time alone (one of my New Years' Resolutions) and enjoying the crisp air and my music. I just love that park anyway!

I'm hoping to keep it up! Wish me luck!

Sarah- I know you must be proud!!! Can't wait until you get here and we can walk it together! Maybe by then I'll be running all three miles?!? :)

This past weekend was busy busy!!! Among all the activity and craziness, I had a beautiful maternity shoot! I just love maternity shoots... pregnant women are just so gorgeous!

I have known Johnna and Freddie Dwyer since back in high school. Freddie and I worked together as Camp Counselors at the Youth Center! Fun times!

Freddie is currently serving our country in Iraq. A true hero.

Freddie, I have MANY favorites from this shoot... Johnna really wanted me to post a few so you could see her and your beautiful Addy! I have more than a "few!" Enjoy!

Well- we returned home Tuesday night to NO POWER! It finally came on tonight at 5:00. So unbelievably excited about that! I was so happy to wash dishes and do a load of laundry. Maybe that feeling will last? LOL!

25 Random Things...

This survey thing has been going around EVERYWHERE- email, blogs, facebook, etc.

I thought I would think of 25 Random Things about me as quickly as I could. I still don't have power so what else am I gonna do? :) So thankful for a generator and this here internet!!!

1. I LOVE 70's music. The Eagles especially.
2. I hate NOT having power! :)
3. I can EAT some crab legs.
4. I love water- lake, river, ocean... love it!
5. I love to laugh and talk with my girlfriends!
6. I am pretty serious minded.
7. I am trustworthy.
8. I LOVE clothes. Like L-O-V-E them!
9. I HATE putting my clothes away!
10. My children's laughter is probably the best sound in the world.
11. I love being around my family. ALL OF US. We all drive each other crazy- but it's one of the best places to be.
12. I LOVE to travel but hate packing and especially unpacking.
13. I am totally addicted to MUSIC and MY COMPUTER. Completely and totally. It's almost wrong.
14. I could live at the beach. And hopefully will someday.
15. I am a CITY GIRL...
16. ... but I love to drive the tractor and brush hog. Yes... I know... it's crazy.
17. I like to cook but hate to bake.
18. If you are around me the first 30 minutes I wake up you probably won't like me very much. I am an ANGRY morning person. I am mad at the light/world/everything in the morning. Luckily Sam does the morning routine and gives me about 30 minutes to recompose!
19. I am organized but cluttery.
20. I will always have to be doing something CREATIVE my entire life.
21. I have some of the BEST girlfriends in the world. And I cherish those friendships.
22. I LOVED and still MISS my college years.
23. I am a firm believer that just because you get married and have kids your life is not OVER. You can still have a blast!
24. I am an extremely independent and strong woman who can express her thoughts and feelings- but I am also really soft inside and like to be babied! (Very similiar to you Liz!)
25. I think one of the most romantic things is being surprised with something really sweet and thoughtful.

ESCAPING THE ICE STORM

So I'm typing this as I am sitting in my parent's family room as the Superbowl is playing listening to my husband and father cheer on Arizona... yes, I'm blogging instead of watching!!! I am not a huge football fan!

The ice storm in Mountain Home got the best of us. After fighting with the generator, having NO internet (gasp!), having the kids sleep in our closet in sleeping bags (it's the warmest room in the house!), and having to shower at Scott & Alicia's.... we had HAD IT! Plus just seeing almost EVERY tree in our yard completely destroyed... it was heartbreaking! Sam and I were exhausted and about to go NUTS being cooped up so we looked at each other and decided to ESCAPE! We hopped a plane to Florida on Friday afternoon! It is by far the craziest thing we have ever done... and we are having the best time!!! We have spent our time visiting my parents, lounging at the pool, hanging out at the beach, sleeping in, playing Pollyanna (which Sam is totally kicking our butts!!!), and enjoying the luxury of electricity and RUNNING WATER!!!

We started our week on Monday night feeling like this:

I know these pics aren't the best... I left my good camera at home!

As of right now our home doesn't have any power (Thank You Scott for checking every day!) and neither does Sam's work. We are keeping our fingers crossed that all power will be on when we return... :)

Okay... first of all... can I just say that just having a session in ORANGE COUNTY was amazing! Then to add to that I was learning photog skills from the fabulous Drew right along with two of my Fab Four girls- Liz and Jamie! Plus we photographed the SWEETEST family- The Carson Family. It was SO much fun and interactive and I LOVED it!!!

Aw! The Estes Family! My favorite family in the world! It's crazy because we knew Scott & Alicia BEFORE they had children... and now they have THREE! Crazy how time flies.

Precious little Miles Carter! I SO thoroughly enjoy taking baby photos! It is just such a beautiful thing to capture parents with their child. Awww... I LOVE IT! This session was so much fun... especially when they brought out a dog that was more like a HORSE!!! The dog was bigger than Emily!!!
